Question by Sagy: What is the name of the Data Recovery “system” folder I would find deleted .wps files in?
Someone please help. I was working on TWO litigation cases for the past YEAR. I finally finished up both cases and decided to delete all redundant drafts and copies and store the final version only on my USB jump drive. Then I decided to rearrange my space and moved my computer with the jump drive still in the slot. I set the tower down on the front side and snapped the jump drive in to 3 pieces. So now I am missing 200 pages in hard work and I am too exhausted to do it again, plus I am out of time. I already emptied the Bin, too.
So I need to recover the files on my hard drive. I downloaded a Data Recovery and it found like 400,000 files or something on my hard drive. I have Microsoft XP and primarily used Works which I then converted to Word so the documents were .wps. Well the data recovery returned a list of folders which when I looked through I found one labeled Word with at least 2000 documents in it. However, I was not able to locate any other system folder called Works so I am confused where the .wps files I need are. I used EASUS Data Recovery download but the system folder would not change from software to software. Can somebody familiar with data recovery, system management or .wps files please help?

If you sent the files to the recycle bin they’re not deleted, they’re in the recycle bin.
If you deleted them, they’re in whatever folder you saved them to. That’s something you decide, so no one who can’t read your mind can tell you where that would be.
