Question by beng: When I open document files with XP, word starts blinking and keeps “running virus scan”?
Then I can’t open any other windows (including task manager) or even shut down properly. HELP!
Apparently, documents load fine when I open a blank word first then open them there.
(I’ve already renamed normal.dot, but it didn’t make any difference!)

I have seen this happen before with symantec anti-virus program. If you open up symantec you can go through the options and disable that feature. Or a quick way is to turn off your anti-virus completely (not recommended).

Question by nick: how do i edit the info. in a Text document that i “scanned”?
i have scanned a text document in my PC and wanted to edit the info in it…i tried opening this scanned docu. in MS word and notepad but it just wont open…all that i saw after copyin’ were some code letters….plz suggest me a way to edit the info in that document as i want a newer altered print….

Scan it with a scanner that comes with OCR optical character recognition. Or get a an OCR program.You can save it to aword document and edit it that way.
