Aklan mayor faces raps over cash advance

The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) has filed before the Sandiganbayan criminal charges against the municipal mayor of Aklan for allegedly getting cash advance without proper accounting procedures, it was learned Thursday. Advance America to close 122 locations

Payday lender Advance America Cash Advance Centers Inc. said Thursday that it will shut down 122 locations in several states, including all of its Arizona locations since a law that permitted cash advances in that state expired June 30.
